Should I wear shoes on the river?

Yes. We highly recommend wearing shoes or sandals that will stay on your feet in the water.

Should I bring car keys or valuables on the river?
No. Please leave valuables at home or locked in your vehicle, including jewelry and wedding rings. We will securely hold your car keys for you until you return.

Can I bring my own tube or equipment and get a shuttle upstream?
Yes, but there is a shuttle fee for personal equipment. The cost is the same as renting equipment based on capacity. For example, if you bring a two-person tube, the fee is the same as renting two tubes. If you bring a four-person tube, the fee is the same as renting four tubes.

Can I shuttle myself upstream with my own personal equipment and use your landing?
There is a $5 landing fee per tube or boat to launch or take out personal equipment. For example, if you land 5 personal tubes or 5 canoes , the landing fee would be $25. See Parking Information below.

Parking lots in Welch are privately owned, including both Welch Mill parking lots, including the Cannon River Inn lot. If using personal equipment, paying the landing fee in advance and asking permission to park is appreciated. ALL property in the town of Welch is private property.

Most property along the Cannon River, including property throughout the town of Welch, is privately owned. Please respect landowners and stay within designated public access areas. The nearest public landing is located in Red Wing at the Highway 61 Bridge, 10 miles down river from Welch.
